Steering system maintenance method

Power steering systems are commonly used in modern mid- to high-end cars and heavy-duty vehicles, which not only greatly improves the ease of handling of the car, but also improves the driving safety of the car.The power steering system is formed by adding a set of steering booster devices that rely on the output power of the engine on the basis of the mechanical steering system.Cars generally adopt a gear-and-pinion power steering mechanism. This kind of steering gear has simple structure, high control sensitivity, and light steering operation. Moreover, since the steering gear is completely closed, inspection and adjustment are not usually required.

The maintenance of the power steering system is mainly:Regularly check the liquid level of the power steering liquid in the liquid storage tank

When it is hot (approximately 66°C, it feels hot to touch with your hands), the liquid level must be between the HOT (hot) and COLD (cold) marks. If it is cold (approximately 21°C), the liquid level must be between the ADD (plus) and CLOD (cold) marks. If the liquid level does not meet the requirements, DEXRON2 power steering fluid (hydraulic transmission oil) must be filled.
